Sex Offender Nabbed with 600+ Child Abuse Images in Essex Police Sting
Routine Check Uncovers Paedophile’s Secret Stash
Trevor Pearce, 63, already on the sex offenders’ register, thought he’d slipped under the radar. But Essex Police’s MOSOVO team caught him red-handed during a routine visit to his Loughton home. Inside, officers found more than 600 indecent images and videos of children hidden on his phones and cloud accounts.
More Raids Expose Disturbing Secrets
In a follow-up raid in February 2025, cops uncovered even more devices — hidden phones and tablets Pearce had tried to keep secret. He’d been deleting browser histories, concealing apps, and using undeclared storage, all in breach of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Shocking details emerged: the youngest victim in the vile images was under a year old. They also found illicit upskirting photos taken around Loughton.
Pleads Guilty to Multiple Charges
On 3 September at Chelmsford Crown Court, Pearce admitted to:
- 12 counts of making indecent images of children
- One count of possessing extreme pornographic images
- One count of recording images under clothing without consent
- One count of breaching his SHPO
Three Years Behind Bars and Indefinite Monitoring
Sentenced on 3 October, Pearce faces three years in prison. The court slapped him with an indefinite Sex Offenders’ Register listing and an indefinite SHPO, tightening the leash on his future conduct.
MOSOVO Officer Jai Rivers said: “This case shows why we constantly monitor offenders across Essex. Pearce blatantly ignored court orders and exploited victims. Despite his denials, the evidence forced him to plead guilty. Today’s sentence sends a clear warning – commit these crimes, and you will be caught and jailed.”
