Armed Police Swarm Yarmouth Pub Over Stun-Gun Scare
Armed officers stormed The Bugle pub in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, on Sunday night after reports a man was wielding a stun-gun. The drama unfolded just after 7.30pm when a worried member of the public dialed 999.
20-Year-Old Arrested for Illegal Weapon
Police quickly detained a 20-year-old local man on suspicion of carrying a weapon designed to discharge noxious liquid, gas, or an electrical incapacitation device. He remains in custody at Newport Police Station as the investigation continues.
Second Man Bailed for Obstructing Police
Officers also arrested 49-year-old Mark Green, from the Isle of Wight, for obstructing the police. Green has been bailed and is due to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on May 14.
