Shoreham Air Show Crash Pilot Andy Hill to Face Manslaughter Charges
Andy Hill, the pilot behind the deadly Shoreham Air Show crash that killed 11 people in August 2015, is set to face manslaughter charges. The Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that Hill, 53, from Standon, Hertfordshire, will be charged with man slaughter by gross negligence for the tragic deaths.
Charged Over Deadly Hawker Hunter Crash
Hill was flying the Hawker Hunter jet when it crashed during the Shoreham Air Show on 22 August 2015. The disaster claimed 11 lives, leaving a community devastated.
Additional Aviation Offence to Be Laid
Besides manslaughter, Hill will also face charges of endangering an aircraft under Article 137 of the Air Navigation Order 2009. The pilot is due to appear at 1 Magistrates’ Court on 19 April to be formally charged.
