Police Officer Jailed for 32 Years Over Horrific Sex Crimes

A former police officer, aged 48, has been handed a life sentence with a minimum of 32 years behind bars after pleading guilty to 85 serious offences — including 48 rapes.

Shocking Abuse Behind the Badge

David Carrick admitted to a string of vile crimes: sexual assaults, false imprisonment, and controlling behaviour. Disturbingly, he even locked victims in tiny cupboards and whistled at them like a dog.

He targeted at least 12 women between 2003 and 2020, abusing his position as a police officer to carry out the attacks. Some victims met him through dating apps, while others fell for his charm before being lured into relationships and abused.

New Allegations Keep Rolling In

Hertfordshire Police revealed that the probe into Carrick’s crimes is far from over. Since his guilty plea and sentencing, over ten more people have come forward with fresh claims of sexual assault and other offences linked to him.

“The team is now investigating these new allegations in collaboration with the CPS,” a police spokesperson confirmed.

Judge Slams ‘Untouchable’ Officer

Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb condemned Carrick, saying he acted like he was “untouchable” while causing “irreparable destruction” to his victims. She called him “bold and relentless,” confident that shame and fear would keep his victims silent — and for nearly 20 years, he was right.
