Police are being hailed as heroes after rescuing a terrified woman hidden away in a filthy Glasgow flat. Sohail Ahmed, 52, has now been locked up for a gruesome spree of abduction and sexual assault across the city.
Nine Years in Jail and Lifelong Controls
Ahmed faced Glasgow High Court on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, following his March conviction. He was hit with a hefty sentence: a minimum of nine years behind bars plus a lifelong restriction order. He’s also slapped on the sex offenders’ register for life and banned from contacting his victims through non-harassment orders.
Chilling Crime Details Emerge
- December 2022: Ahmed snatched his first victim, took her to a grim Glasgow flat, seriously sexually assaulted her, and tried to trap her inside.
- August 2023: A second woman suffered the same nightmare in the very same flat.
- A worried friend tipped off police, who found Ahmed desperately trying to hide the second victim in a rubbish-strewn, chaotic flat.
Prosecutors praised the police officers’ relentless efforts to free the victim and put the vile predator behind bars for good.
