Torquay’s Ty Mayson Caged for Nearly a Year Over Dangerous Driving and Weapons
A 23-year-old South Devon man has been nailed with a hefty jail sentence after admitting a string of serious offences. Ty Mayson, who has no fixed address in Paignton, appeared at Plymouth Magistrates Court on Monday, 9 March, facing charges linked to incidents across Torquay and Paignton.
Ty Mayson’s Double Trouble in Court
- 28 weeks for dangerous driving
- 22 weeks consecutive for possession of weapons, including an axe and a knife found in his vehicles
- 6 weeks concurrent for driving while disqualified
Mayson’s total sentence edges close to a year behind bars. He is also slapped with a driving ban lasting two years, followed by an extra 14 weeks until he clears an extended driving test.
Surprising Snub for Other Offences
Despite failing to stop for police and driving without insurance, Mayson escaped additional penalties for these offences—a curious twist in a case packed with serious charges.
