Stoke Woman Jailed for 11 Years in Shocking Slavery and Violence Case
A brutal Stoke-on-Trent woman has been locked up for 11 years after a chilling campaign of violence, exploitation, and intimidation came to light.
Anna Stukova’s Reign of Terror in Tunstall
Anna Stukova, 30, from Tunstall, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday 8 December following a series of horrifying offences. Her crimes include:
- Forcing someone into compulsory labour twice
- Sexual assault
- Threatening a person with a blade in public
- Multiple assaults, including beatings causing actual bodily harm
- Intimidating witnesses and jurors
- Theft from victims and others
- Burglary (to which she pleaded guilty)
Victim Endured Terrifying Abuse and Exploitation
Between January 2023 and November last year, Stukova forced her victim to steal from shops under threat of violence. She then stole from and viciously beat the same victim. The woman lived in constant fear, threatened with death and weapons, and was forced into sex work to generate money for Stukova.
Strict Orders to Protect the Community
Alongside the prison term, Stukova faces an indefinite restraining order, lifelong registration on the sex offenders register, and a 15-year slavery and trafficking protection order. She is also banned from entering the Hanley and Cobridge areas to shield local residents from further harm.
The local modern slavery and human trafficking team was pivotal in securing justice and supporting the victim throughout the investigation.
