Suspicious Materials Spark Terror in Ramsgate

Two streets in Ramsgate were sealed off today after suspicious items were discovered at a flat. Police were called to Charlotte Court at 3.26pm on Monday 14 January 2019 following the alarming find.

Harbour Street and York Street Shut Down

Officers swiftly evacuated residents from Charlotte Court and shut down Harbour Street and York Street as a safety measure. A Ministry of Defence Explosive Ordnance Disposal team has been rushed to the scene to examine the suspicious materials.

Police Urge Public to Steer Clear

Inspector James Ross said: “We have closed the two roads purely as a precaution and are asking people to avoid the area.”
