Suspected Drug Dealer Crashes in Gillingham After Police Chase
A suspected drug dealer slammed into a lamppost and three parked cars during a desperate getaway in Gillingham.
Police Pursuit Ends in Crash
At around 3pm on 14 May, police ordered a man to stop his car on Louisville Avenue. Instead, he sped off, crashing into a lamppost and three parked vehicles. The driver then tried to make a run for it on foot.
Drugs Tossed During Escape Attempt
Cops spotted the suspect throwing what looked like drug wraps on the ground as he fled. He was quickly arrested nearby.
Crack Cocaine and Heroin Found
A thorough search of the car uncovered multiple packages believed to contain crack cocaine and heroin.
Man Charged and Remanded
Syed Rizvi, 30, from Pearce Close, Mitcham, now faces charges including:
- Two counts of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin
- Dangerous driving
- Driving without a licence
- Benefitting under the Proceeds of Crime Act
He has been remanded in custody and will appear via video link at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 16 May.
