A man has been charged over a terrifying robbery at a Sittingbourne store. On the evening of October 2, 2023, three men stormed a West Street shop, threatening and assaulting an employee before making off with cigarettes and bottles of alcohol.
Suspect Arrested After Swale CID Investigation
Police from Swale CID hunted down a suspect and arrested Ben Bignall on December 20. The 40-year-old, who has no fixed address, now faces charges of robbery. He was also hit with an additional charge for refusing to provide a drug sample while in custody.
Court Appearances Set
Bignall appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on December 22. He has been remanded ahead of a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court, scheduled for January 19, 2024.
