A suspected thief is set to face court after a violent incident at a Broadstairs supermarket.
Brawl Erupts Over Stolen Meats
On Wednesday 1 January 2020, just before 6pm, a man suffered facial injuries during an altercation at a Margate Road supermarket. The trouble began when Brett Whitehead, 45, allegedly tried to steal meat from the store.
Charges Stack Up Against No Fixed Abode Offender
Whitehead, who has no fixed address, was charged the following day with stealing meat, threatening someone with a knife in public, and two counts of assault by beating.
Court Appearance and Custody
He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 3 January where he was remanded in custody, awaiting further proceedings.
