Doncaster Man Arrested After Live-Streaming Brutal Stabbing on Facebook

A man from Doncaster has been hauled into court after live-streaming a shocking stabbing attack on Facebook. Liam Robinson was arrested minutes after police received an anonymous tip-off about the harrowing video showing a man being stabbed and threatened.

Attack Broadcast Live – Police Move Fast

The horrific incident happened on the evening of December 19, 2023. At 7:06 PM, police were alerted to a Facebook Live video where a man wielding a knife threatened to stab his victim in the face. The attacker was soon identified as Liam Robinson, who was seen brandishing the weapon during the brutal assault.

Officers acted fast, dispatching two officers to Robinson’s home in Moorends, Doncaster. They arrived within 14 minutes of the call, finding drops of blood that matched the video’s location.

Robinson Arrested and Assaults Custody Officer

The 31-year-old, from Kirkhouse Green Road, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). While being taken to the hospital, Robinson spat at and assaulted a custody officer, showing blatant disregard for authority.

Detective Constable Jack Goodall said: “This was a crime caught in action — a dangerous individual at large and a clear threat to the public. Thanks to a quick tip-off from the public, we tracked Robinson down and brought him into custody to prevent any further harm.”

Victim Recovers and Robinson Sentenced

The victim was found safe the next day and gave an account of the assault. The attack happened while he was working as a labourer at Robinson’s house. Adding insult to injury, Robinson started the live stream mid-assault, humiliating the victim further.

Robinson pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker. Alongside charges of dangerous driving, he was sentenced to two years in prison at Sheffield Crown Court on July 10.

DC Goodall added: “Robinson’s actions were not only brutal but cruelly amplified by live-streaming the assault. Attacking a custody officer during transport to hospital was further despicable. Our team worked tirelessly to secure this conviction. Violence like this will never be tolerated, and justice will always be pursued for victims.”
