Mehmet Balikci, 57, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, November 11. He was found guilty in January of actual bodily harm, common assault, and threatening to kill.
Balikci, married to Rachel Parry-Balikci for 23 years, became obsessed with a fake story about his wife cheating. During the trial, Mrs Parry-Balikci revealed how her husband repeatedly grilled her, desperate for a confession.
Horrifying Knife Threat to Wife’s Throat
“If you don’t tell me the truth, I’ll kill you,” Balikci growled, pressing a knife to his wife’s throat and pulling back her head to expose her neck.
Six Years Behind Bars and Lifetime Ban
Balikci will serve up to three years in prison – half his six-year term. He also faces an indefinite restraining order, banning any contact with his wife.
