Teen Girl Targeted on Bus Near Chatham
Kent Police have arrested an 18-year-old man following a shocking sexual assault on a teenage girl aboard a bus close to Chatham town centre in Medway.
The incident unfolded at around 4pm on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, as the girl was travelling alone.
According to reports, the man, a stranger to the victim, sat beside her and touched her over her clothing. He then got off the bus in Rainham.
The victim quickly informed the bus driver, who reported the attack to police.
Arrest Made As Investigation Continues
After a thorough probe, police detained a local 18-year-old on Thursday, May 1. The suspect is currently released on bail pending further enquiries.
“We take all reports of this nature very seriously. Enquiries remain ongoing, and we urge anyone with further information to come forward,” a Kent Police spokesperson said.
