A 16-year-old boy has admitted manslaughter over the savage beating that killed electrician Alexander Cashford on Leysdown beach.

Three Teens Face Murder Charges Over Leysdown Death

Alexander Cashford died after a brutal attack on August 10 last year in Leysdown, Sheppey. Three teens – a 16-year-old girl and two boys aged 15 and 16 – stood trial at Woolwich Crown Court accused of murder.

Today (January 15), the 16-year-old boy pleaded guilty to manslaughter. The girl and the younger boy deny all charges.

Victim Tricked and Ambushed

Prosecutor Kate Blumgart KC told the court the trio lured Alexander to Warden Bay Road with a fake promise. They said he was meeting a 16-year-old girl called “Sienna.” Instead, he was chased and viciously attacked.

Attack Filmed, Victim Taunted

The court saw chilling footage filmed by the girl just 10 minutes after the meeting. The video shows Alexander being hit on the head with a glass bottle. The girl hurls vile insults, calling him a “f***ing paedophile” and urging others to “get him, f***ing nonce.”

Eyewitnesses later saw Alexander lying in mud while the 16-year-old boy threw rocks at his head and stomach. Prosecutors say each teenager played a key role in the savage group assault.

Six-Week Trial Unfolds Shocking Details

The trial, overseen by High Court Judge Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb, continues to reveal the brutal circumstances behind Alexander Cashford’s tragic death.
