An 18-year-old has been jailed for life after brutally murdering his mother in Prestatyn. Tristan Roberts confessed to the savage hammer attack that left Angela Shellis, 45, dead.
Body Discovered in Park After Hammer Attack
Angela Shellis was found lifeless in Morfa Nature Park on the morning of 24 October 2025. A passerby spotted her hidden among the bushes. She suffered severe head wounds from a hammer assault carried out just hours earlier by her son.
Chilling Crime Details Revealed
- Roberts held Angela captive in their home for over four hours.
- He battered her with a hammer and locked her in her bedroom.
- CCTV footage showed them leaving the house together just before 3:20am on 24 October.
- At Morfa Park, Roberts unleashed a brutal hammer attack that killed his mother.
- He was caught on CCTV walking home alone, then returning to the park to try cleaning up the crime scene.
Life Sentence for Ruthless Killer
Roberts pleaded guilty at Mold Crown Court on 5 February. On 25 March, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 22-and-a-half years.
