Teen held over knife robbery in Gillingham

16-year-old arrested after mugging of teen on Trafalgar Street

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a knifepoint robbery in Gillingham.

The victim, another teenager, arranged to sell a pair of earbuds and met the suspect on Trafalgar Street around 9:30pm on Monday, 9 September 2024.

On arrival, the suspect threatened the victim with a knife and stole the earbuds along with the victim’s mobile phone.

Police swoop and release teen on bail

Police launched an investigation and arrested the suspect at around 1:40am on Thursday, 12 September.

The teen was later released on bail pending further inquiries. A return date is set for Friday, 12 December.

Police are continuing their enquiries and urge anyone with information to get in touch to assist the investigation.
