Jail for Nightclub Thug Who Ramped Car into Venue
A violent nightclub brawl in Herne Bay took a shocking turn when Kenny McMahan drove his car into the venue’s gates after attacking staff. The 27-year-old has now been locked up for over two years.
Staff Assault and Car Crash Chaos
The drama unfolded on 27 July 2018 on Herne Bay High Street. McMahan first got into a row inside the club which escalated into a nasty altercation. When a member of staff asked him to leave, McMahan bit the man’s eyebrow, leaving a severe cut.
As if that wasn’t enough, after being kicked out, McMahan delivered several punches to the staff member’s back before hopping into a black Mercedes and crashing it into the nightclub gates, trapping the victim’s leg.
His reckless joyride didn’t stop there – the car smashed into two parked vehicles nearby before McMahan fled the scene.
Offender Finally Behind Bars
McMahan, from Blackburn Road in Herne Bay, was arrested and hit with multiple charges including unlawful wounding, dangerous driving, and harassment linked to threatening messages sent earlier in 2020.
On 24 September 2020, Canterbury Crown Court handed him a prison sentence of two years and three months.
Police React to Night of Terror
“McMahan’s actions were completely reckless, and it’s lucky nobody was more seriously injured,” said Detective Inspector Julien Lawton of kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police.
“He attacked a man simply doing his job and then drove in a terrifying way that put the public at risk. He has continued offending since, but now justice has finally caught up with him.”
