Tragic Death of Jack Lis After Dog Attack Shocks Community

Jack Lis died following a brutal dog attack at a friend’s house on Monday. His devastated family released a heartbreaking statement through Gwent Police.

“We are absolutely heartbroken. Our lives will never be the same without Jack. This is not something any parent should ever have to be writing,” they said.

“We have so many words we want to say about our beautiful boy, but they do not seem enough. We love him more than words can describe.”

“Jack made us the proudest parents and family on the planet. He was the sweetest of boys. We will forever miss his quirky ways and the stories he spent so long telling us.”

“He’s forever in our hearts. Sweet dreams Jack, our perfect boy.”

Police Release Suspects and Urge Caution on Social Media

Gwent Police confirmed a 28-year-old woman from Caerphilly has been released on conditional bail. She was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control that caused Jack’s death.

Two men, aged 34 and 19, from Mountain Ash and Caerphilly respectively, have also been released after voluntarily speaking with police regarding the dog’s ownership.

Chief Superintendent Mark Hobrough said, “The work to identify the breed of dog involved in this attack continues. I understand there is a lot of interest in our communities.”

He added a warning about social media posts: “It is vital people consider the tone and language used in comments about anyone involved as part of our enquiries. Social media posts can impact the ongoing investigation and Jack’s grieving family.”

“Once again, my condolences go to Jack’s family, friends, schoolmates, and everyone affected by this tragedy in the community,” Hobrough concluded.
