Drug Dealer Found Guilty of Murdering Innocent Girl in Brutal Shooting
Shot Fired in Deadly Chase
On August 22, 2022, Thomas Cashman opened fire on Joseph Nee, a convicted burglar, with multiple shots. Prosecutors said Cashman was on a chilling mission with “murder in mind,” chasing Nee to kill him.
Tragic Victim Caught in Crossfire
In the deadly chaos, young Olivia and her mother, 1 Korbel, were caught in the line of fire. Olivia suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest, tragically dying at the scene.
Swift Verdict After Lengthy Trial
After a tense and lengthy trial, the 34-year-old drug dealer was found guilty of murder, attempted murder, wounding Ms Korbel, and unlawful possession of firearms. The jury took less than nine hours to deliver the verdict, leaving the courtroom gasping and in tears.
Accomplice Admits Guilt
Meanwhile, Paul Russell, Cashman’s accomplice, pleaded guilty to assisting an offender by driving Cashman from the crime scene and getting rid of his clothes.
Justice for Olivia, But Family Still in Grief
Merseyside’s Chief Constable Serena Kennedy branded Cashman a “coward” and urged him to reflect on his brutal actions every day behind bars. However, for Olivia’s family, the verdict offers little comfort as they mourn a beloved daughter and sister lost to senseless violence.
Cashman is set to be sentenced on Monday.
