Two Teens Charged with Murder After South London Park Stabbing

Man Stabbed Dead in Peckham Rye Park

A 29-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death while just sitting peacefully in Peckham Rye Park last month. Kalabe Legesse was “minding his own business” near the café off Strakers Road on December 30 when the savage attack happened, police revealed.

Suspects Arrested and Charged

Emergency crews found Kalabe with serious stab wounds and rushed him to hospital. Sadly, he died shortly after despite paramedics’ efforts. On January 19, two teenagers were arrested in connection with the murder.

  • 19-year-old Nah’shun Thomas, from Bournemouth Road, Peckham
  • A 16-year-old boy, identity protected by law

Both face murder charges and will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court this Saturday.

Cause of Death Confirmed

A post-mortem on December 31 revealed Kalabe died from a haemorrhage and a stab wound to the heart. Police are supporting his next of kin during this difficult time.
