Hartlepool Trio Jailed for Killing Man in Early Hours Attack
Three people have been locked up after pleading guilty to the manslaughter of Adam Thompson, 30, in Hartlepool this January.
Guilty Pleas at Teesside Crown Court
Sarah Hadfield, 35, Anthony Hadfield, 40, and Steven Corbett, 31, all from Hartlepool, admitted manslaughter when they appeared at Teesside Crown Court on 3rd July.
Adam Thompson died following an attack on Sydenham Road just after 3am on Wednesday 4th January.
Sentences Handed Down
- Anthony Hadfield got seven years and seven months.
- Steven Corbett jailed for five years and one month.
- Sarah Hadfield received five years and eleven months.
A teenage boy also charged over the incident was released as no evidence was offered against him.
Police Praise Community Help in Hunt for Justice
“This has been a tragic loss for Adam’s family, devastated to lose their son so young,” said Senior Investigating Officer Stuart Hodgson.
“I hope today’s sentences offer them some comfort. Steven Corbett, Sarah Hadfield, and Anthony Hadfield will now serve time in prison to reflect on the consequences of their actions that ended Adam’s life.
“I’d like to thank the local community for coming forward with information that helped with the investigation and ensured justice was served.”
