Unprovoked Attack Ends in Tragedy

The trio were convicted for the savage murder of Carl Dyche on December 2, 2021. Carl was viciously attacked in his own garden in a shocking and unprovoked assault.

On the night of the attack, the three men climbed over Carl’s back gate and launched a sustained, brutal beating. Carl’s wife and son tried desperately to intervene, but the assault was so ferocious Carl later died from his injuries in hospital.

Police Praise Family’s Courage

“This was a deeply upsetting investigation for the family, as Carl was senselessly beaten in a brutal and unmotivated attack in front of his wife and young stepson,” said Detective Inspector Chris Percival, who led the investigation.

“Bravely and with the utmost dignity, both Carl’s wife and stepson gave evidence that helped secure guilty verdicts. It was an incredibly hard task for a grieving family, especially those who witnessed the attack firsthand.”

“I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Carl’s family and close friends. While today’s sentencing won’t bring Carl back, I hope it helps his loved ones begin to heal.”
