Police Praise Family’s Courage
“This was a deeply upsetting investigation for the family, as Carl was senselessly beaten in a brutal and unmotivated attack in front of his wife and young stepson,” said Detective Inspector Chris Percival, who led the investigation.
“Bravely and with the utmost dignity, both Carl’s wife and stepson gave evidence that helped secure guilty verdicts. It was an incredibly hard task for a grieving family, especially those who witnessed the attack firsthand.”
“I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Carl’s family and close friends. While today’s sentencing won’t bring Carl back, I hope it helps his loved ones begin to heal.”
