Three Jailed for Life Over Fatal Stabbing of Teen on Driveway

Dawid Such, 19, was brutally stabbed multiple times on his Langhorn Road driveway last July 24. He collapsed in the street, with passing members of the public quickly calling emergency services.

Despite frantic efforts by paramedics, Dawid was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at hospital.

Four Men Found Guilty in Gruesome Murder Plot

After a tense trial at Winchester Crown Court and more than 30 hours of jury deliberation, Ken Mulangala (20) from southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton, Cleohurtz Uchenna Onyeasi (21) from Kent, and Donovan Neil Thomas (36) from London were convicted of joint enterprise murder.

Meanwhile, Jordan Gregory Matthews (21) of Bursledon was found guilty of assisting an offender and sentenced separately.

Heartbreaking Tribute from Dawid’s Mother

“The death of my child has brought my life to a standstill,” said Dawid’s mother, Karolina Such. “Nothing makes sense anymore. I feel only emptiness, grief, suffering, melancholy. My days begin and end with crying.

“I will never come to terms with his passing. Nobody had the right to take his life. I gave him life, and he was meant to live it with us. It breaks my heart to see his empty room and bed, knowing he was here so recently, enjoying life.”

“Dawid was a very good child – tender and with a good heart. He had plans for the future that now will never come true. My heart breaks with grief.”

Justice Served: Life Sentences and Jail Time

  • Ken Mulangala and Cleohurtz Onyeasi were both sentenced to life with a minimum of 23 years before parole eligibility.
  • Donovan Thomas received life imprisonment with a minimum of 27 years.
  • Jordan Matthews was jailed for three years for assisting an offender.

The Honourable Mr Justice Wall praised the police for a thorough investigation and superb evidence presentation.

Police Praise and Community Response

Detective Chief Inspector Rod Kenny, who led the probe, said: “Dawid’s death is a senseless tragedy. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends. The killers acted in a coordinated, pre-planned manner with no regard for Dawid or the pain left behind.”

He also thanked courageous witnesses and responders and praised the Major Crime Investigation Team and Crown Prosecution Service for securing justice.

Southampton District Commander Chief Inspector Marcus Kennedy added: “This was an abhorrent daylight attack and a tragic loss to our community. Violence like this will not be tolerated.”

He confirmed ongoing work with the Violence Reduction Unit, schools, charities, and Safe City Partnership to combat serious violence in Southampton.
