Three Jailed for Brutal Murder of Devon Jensen-Wallace
Three men have been locked up after the savage killing of 25-year-old Devon Jensen-Wallace. On Tuesday, August 8, the Old Bailey sentenced Jamal Grant, Elvis Grant, and Lamar Grant for their roles in the fatal attack last year.
Life Behind Bars for Jamal and Elvis Grant
Brothers Jamal, 31, and Elvis, 51, both from Pitfield Way, NW10, were convicted of murder and perverting the course of justice. They each got life sentences with a minimum of 24 years locked up. On top of that, they’ll serve two years concurrently for trying to cover up the crime.
Lamar Grant Gets 15 Years for Manslaughter
Lamar Grant, 26, also from Pitfield Way, was found guilty of manslaughter and perverting the course of justice. He was handed 15 years in total—13 for manslaughter plus another two years running consecutively for obstructing justice.
Fatal Stabbing on St Raphael’s Estate
The court heard how on June 1, 2022, Devon was out with friends near Overton Close on St Raphael’s Estate, NW10. A gang of men armed with a machete-style knife and a baseball bat ambushed them from behind a bin. Devon and his pals tried to escape, but he was stabbed in the leg during the chase.
CCTV caught the chilling pursuit—one attacker wielding a large knife, urging the others on. Devon was later found on Henderson Close, bleeding heavily from a severed femoral vein. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, he was pronounced dead.
Fear and Gang Intimidation Hindered Investigation
Witnesses and locals stayed tight-lipped, terrified of gang retaliation. Detective Chief Inspector Joe Garrity praised his team’s persistence in cracking the case despite the wall of silence.
Forensic evidence, including fingerprints and blood, linked the Grants directly to the crime scene. The investigation revealed Jamal Grant may have targeted Devon over a previous assault. A painstaking police reconstruction and CCTV analysis sealed the trio’s fate.
Justice was finally served despite the odds, sending a clear message that gang violence won’t be tolerated.
