Masked Machete Gang’s Burglar Gets Double Jail Time
Creddy Taylor, 21, from Leeds, has had his jail term doubled from four to eight years. The upgrade came after his sentence was reviewed under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme.
Brutal Daylight Raid in Bradford
On 25 July 2023, a gang of masked men, one armed with a machete, smashed their way into a Bradford home in broad daylight. The terrified victim, who was pregnant at the time, managed to escape before Taylor and his accomplices made off with luxury watches, designer goods, and cash.
Top Brass Condemns Violent Burglary
“I was appalled to learn of this horrific robbery and extend my sympathies to the victim who went through a traumatic ordeal,” said Solicitor General Robert Courts KC MP.
“The court’s intervention is a welcome one and this case should send a stark warning that those who commit violent burglaries will face the full extent of the law for their crimes.”
Swift Justice After Aggravated Burglary Charge
Initially sentenced to four years at Bradford Crown Court on 12 January 2024 for aggravated burglary, Taylor’s punishment was ramped up to eight years on 12 April 2024 following the sentence review.
This crackdown sends a clear message: violent home invasions won’t be tolerated.
