Birmingham Car Theft Gang Nabbed After TikTok Bragging Spree
A brazen gang from Birmingham who stole 45 cars worth over £1 million has finally been locked up – and they even bragged about their crime sprees on TikTok. Four men and two teenagers targeted homes across Birmingham, Stourbridge, Solihull, Coventry, and Warwickshire between March 2022 and May 2023.
Gang Films High-Speed Getaways and Burglaries for TikTok
The crew didn’t just steal cars – they filmed every moment. Their social media videos showed masked thieves breaking into homes, snatching vehicles, and even searching online for the stolen cars’ value. One video from February 2023 captured them nicking a Hyundai before racing it at over 100 mph.
Threats with Weapons and Intimidation
The gang’s violent tactics included threatening to stab a homeowner in Kings Norton if he didn’t hand over his car keys. Police believe the use of weapons emphasised their ruthless approach.
Caught After Public Tip-Off and Police Raid
Birmingham’s Serious and Organised Crime team swooped in after a tip-off in May 2023 led to the arrest of two 16-year-olds found with pepper spray, balaclavas, and keys linked to a stolen BMW. The entire gang was arrested by June after further investigation.
Mobile phones seized revealed damning evidence – crime scene videos and footage showing reckless speeds well over 100 mph.
