Crime Spree Hits Riverview Estate
Liam Wells, 28, is accused of a string of offences in the Riverview estate, mostly on Sunday 21 February 2022. His alleged crime spree involved break-ins, thefts, and fraud.
Kent Police Act Fast
Kent Police’s Chief Constable’s Crime Squad quickly launched an investigation after reports surfaced. Their work led to a warrant and Wells’ arrest at his St Albans Gardens home on Tuesday 1 March.
Charges Stack Up Against Wells
- Two counts of burglary – with two cars and a bank card stolen
- Bank card fraudulently used in transactions
- Theft from three parked cars – items taken include a handbag, sunglasses, and high-value cosmetics
- 10 attempted burglaries
- 10 counts of vehicle interference
- Additional theft of tools from a motor vehicle on 17 February
Next Steps in Court
Wells was remanded in custody to face Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 3 March. He was further remanded and is set to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday 31 March.
