Stephen and John McCabe caused chaos across Gateshead and Sunderland on April 4 last year. Their violent spree began with smashing through a petrol station’s glass doors in Gateshead in the early hours.
Shop Assistant Threatened, Stole Booze and Vapes
The brothers forced the shop assistant to hide in a back office as they threatened him and helped themselves to alcohol and vapes. Their rampage didn’t stop there.

Later, after crashing a drinking session at their sister’s house, Stephen McCabe attacked a man, biting off part of his ear in a savage assault.
City-Centre Violence Against Locals and Driving Lesson Terror
The pair then headed to Sunderland, where they hurled abuse at people outside a hostel before smashing its windows when told to move on.
Next, they targeted a driving instructor and pupil mid-lesson. John McCabe, wielding a knife, threatened to stab the pupil if she didn’t exit the car. The terrified duo escaped as the brothers smashed the car’s windscreen with beer bottles.
