Drug Dealers Busted with £100k Class A Stash in Nottingham
Rayon Graham and Dijon Brown were pulled over by police while driving on Jennison Street, Bulwell, on the evening of 4 July 2023. Graham walked free of incriminating items, but Brown was caught red-handed with heroin, cocaine wraps, and cannabis.
Ill-Gotten Gains Hidden in Untaxed, Uninsured Vehicle
Brown was also found holding a key to an old car parked on Mandalay Street, Basford. The vehicle hadn’t been taxed or insured for months. Inside, police uncovered a massive haul: stacks of Class A drugs, thousands in cash, and electronic weighing scales.
Many drugs were in block or uncut form, with a street value soaring beyond £100,000. Over £9,000 cash was also seized from the car.
Criminal Past Caught on CCTV and DNA
Both men have previous Class A drug convictions. CCTV linked them to the car, with DNA evidence tying Graham directly to the stash inside.
Graham, 38, of Dob Park Close, Old Basford, admitted four counts of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, plus possessing criminal property. Brown, 23, of Milverton Road, Bestwood, pled guilty to two counts of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and possessing criminal property. He was also found guilty at trial of two more counts of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.
Jail Terms Delivered After Major Sting
At Nottingham Crown Court, Graham was slammed with 10 years and 9 months behind bars. Brown received five years.
Detective Constable James Bravant said: “Both of these men were significant players in the local drugs trade and were dealing on a very large scale from this vehicle, which they were using to hide their stash and money in plain sight.
“Thanks to some excellent police work on the night and throughout the investigation, their operation was smashed and a very large quantity of illegal drugs seized.
“I’m pleased these men will now be serving very significant jail sentences.”
