Southampton Men Charged Over Racially Aggravated Assault on Jogger
Two men from Southampton have been hit with serious charges after they racially abused and attacked a jogger in broad daylight.

- Ricky Goodman, 35, of Windermere Avenue, faces four charges:
- Racially aggravated assault
- Assault by beating
- Using racially aggravated threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress
- Using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress
- Rory Marshall, 24, of William Macleod Way, also faces four charges:
- Racially aggravated assault
- Assault by beating
- Possession of an offensive weapon in a public place (two counts)
What Happened?
The shocking attack happened around 4.15pm on Tuesday, 23 February, in Vosper Road, Southampton.
A man in his 30s was out jogging when a car full of men drove past, shouting racial abuse. They then stopped the car and launched an assault.
The victim suffered minor facial and elbow injuries.
Next Steps in Court
Goodman and Marshall are set to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court 1 on Tuesday, 21 September, following postal requisitions.
