Wiltshire Police have arrested two men after a brutal assault in Amesbury left a man in his 20s seriously injured.

The attack happened around 11:45pm on Thursday, May 1, on Mill Green Road.

Young Man Hospitalised with Serious Head Wound

Emergency crews rushed to the scene following an ambulance report. The victim was found with a serious head injury and was taken straight to hospital. Police say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but the assault was severe.

Two Men Arrested Amid Rapid Police Action

  • A 28-year-old and a 22-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.
  • The 22-year-old faces additional charges for possession of a Class A drug, drug driving, and harassment linked to a separate Hampshire incident. Police found drugs hidden in his sock during the arrest.

Both remain in police custody awaiting further questioning.

Officers are calling on anyone who saw the assault or has information to come forward. Witnesses can contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting log 353 of May 1.
