Two Men Arrested for Robbing Elderly Man in Ashford

Two 53-year-old men have been charged after mugging an elderly pensioner in Ashford. The shocking theft happened around 2.45pm on Monday, 6 April 2020, as the victim, a man in his 70s, was walking through Taylor’s Passage by the High Street.

Shopping Bag Snatched – Bank Card Stolen

The victim’s shopping bag, containing groceries and a bank card, was snatched during the robbery. Disturbingly, the victim later noticed unauthorised withdrawals from his bank account following the incident.

Suspects Held and Due in Court

  • Peter Goldfinch, 53, of Bushy Royds, Ashford
  • John Henderson, 53, no fixed address

Both men were arrested on Tuesday, 7 April, and charged with robbery. They remain in custody and are set to appear via virtual link at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 8 April.
