Two Dealers Nabbed in Brighton Drug Bust
Aiden Dore, 23, of Mount Pleasant, and Daniel Smith, 40, from Lower Rock Gardens, have pleaded guilty to supplying Class A drugs. The pair were caught red-handed dealing on the streets in August 2020.
Evidence Found in Flat Search
After their arrest, police searched a flat in Lower Rock Gardens. Officers uncovered more Class A drugs, burner phones, cash, and drug-dealing equipment. The haul confirmed the suspects’ involvement in a serious drug operation.
Prison and Suspended Sentence Handed Down
Dore, pictured, was slammed with a hefty four-and-a-half-year prison sentence at Lewes Crown Court on June 30. Smith got off lightly with a two-year suspended sentence and a £500 fine due to his lesser role.
The judge branded their crimes “a filthy trade that wrecks people’s lives.”
Police Vow to Crack Down on Drug Trade
Detective Inspector Dee Wells of Brighton’s Community Investigation Team slammed the illegal drug trade for fueling violence and ruin. She said:
“The illegal drug trade has a significant impact in our city, not only spreading harmful substances but also driving violence and exploitation. We will not stop targeting those involved in drug distribution who harm our communities. Our work with partners to tackle the root causes of drug use continues as part of our mission to make Brighton and Hove safer.”
