Massive Blaze Tears Through Eastbourne’s Claremont Hotel
A massive fire has erupted at The Claremont hotel in Eastbourne, Sussex, today, sending panic through the seaside town.
Flames Engulf Front of Hotel
Witnesses say the entire front of the hotel is ablaze, with thick smoke pouring from the roof. One bystander told reporters: “It’s absolutely huge.” The fire reportedly began at the back before spreading to the front.
Chaos and Smoke Flood the Scene
People were seen fleeing the area as the blaze raged on. Bystanders described seeing “loads and loads of smoke” with frantic scenes near the hotel by the pier.
Firefighters Battle Blazing Inferno
- Twelve fire crews are currently tackling the fire.
- No injuries have been reported by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service so far.
