Victim suffers serious leg injury in brutal robbery

On Tuesday 2 June 2020, a man in his 50s was pushed to the ground and robbed by two men near All Saints Church on Mill Street. The victim’s watch was snatched during the attack.

The fall left him with a serious leg injury, requiring hospital treatment.

Suspects caught and charged over violent robbery

On Monday 22 June, police arrested Jack O’Reilly from Loose Road, maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone, and Allen Mulcahy from Maidstone Road, Chatham at their homes. Both have been charged with robbery.

Mulcahy, 28, faces additional charges for possession of an imitation firearm, being a prohibited person with ammunition, and possession of cannabis.

Court appearances and next steps

At Medway Magistrates’ Court, Mulcahy was remanded in custody, while O’Reilly, 30, was granted bail ahead of a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 21 July.
