Chaos Erupts Near BLVD and Oast House
Detectives are hunting for more witnesses following a violent disturbance on Wood Street, Manchester, in the early hours of Saturday, 5 November 2022. The row kicked off shortly after 4am near the Oast House and BLVD nightclub, sparking a chaotic scene witnessed by many. CCTV caught a crowd gathered as a fight broke out — and police believe a gun was fired during the fracas.
Two Men in Custody Over Gun Charges
Officers have arrested and charged two men linked to the incident. Talib Shabani, from Hattern Avenue, Leicester, faces charges including possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, dangerous driving, and driving without insurance. Meanwhile, Abdul Wali, who is of no fixed address, is charged with possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life. Both men remain in custody and are due in Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Monday, 7 November 2022.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
“Thankfully, no one was injured, but this could have been much worse given the number of people around,” said Detective Inspector Madeline Kelly of GMP’s City of Manchester division. “We need the public’s help to piece together what happened. If you were near Wood Street by the Oast House or BLVD nightclub at around 4am, please get in touch. Whether you have mobile phone or dashcam footage, or any information, it could be crucial.”
