Major Drug Bust Sees Two Sentenced to Jail
Over 100 officers swooped in August 2020 on six simultaneous raids across Huntingdon. Their target: a dangerous drug ring.
Cutting Room Raided, £7,000 Worth of Cocaine and MDMA Seized
Police searched the homes of Kai Angrave, 21, from Sapley Park, and Samuellah Butt, 26, from The Whaddons. They uncovered mobile phones and the key to a secret ‘cutting room’ on Surrey Road.
Inside that room, officers found over £7,000 worth of cocaine, MDMA, and drug paraphernalia.
Two Sentenced to Two-and-a-Half Years Each
At Peterborough Crown Court on Friday (25 March), Angrave was jailed for two-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to possession of a weapon designed to discharge noxious substances, involvement in supplying Class A drugs, and conspiring to supply cocaine.
Butt received the same sentence after admitting conspiracy to supply cocaine and being concerned in Class A drug supply.
Detective Pledges Ongoing Crackdown on Drug Crime
“This was an operation to crackdown on serious and organised drug crime in Huntingdon and after a lengthy investigation, these two have now been sentenced,” said Detective Constable Tom Corbett.
“Drugs bring misery to those who become addicted. They can also lead to a life of crime as people offend to feed their habit.
“We’re committed to protecting our communities and will continue to target and seek to bring justice to those who supply controlled drugs in our county.”
