Two Drug Dealers Busted on Train with £3,000 of Festival Drugs
Jail for Hyde and Florence Street Dealers
Jai Mistry, 23, from Lyne View, Hyde, and Jacob Murray, 24, from Florence Street, 1, both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs. They were each slapped with 32 months behind bars at Preston Crown Court on Friday, 11 December.
Drugs Destined for Nightclubs and Festivals
Police uncovered almost £3,000 worth of MDMA and ketamine on the pair’s phones and person. Authorities revealed the stash was likely aimed at nightclubs and music festivals.
The duo were caught red-handed during a routine train patrol in July 2018. A train conductor and vigilant passengers tipped off officers as the pair boarded at Preston.
Police Clampdown on Drugs on the Railways
Detective Constable Chris Biggs said: “This was a significant haul, taking nearly £3,000 of dangerous drugs intended for festivals and nightclubs off the streets.
“Drugs will not be tolerated anywhere on the railway. Officers are committed to prosecuting those caught supplying illegal substances.
“This sentence sends a clear warning about the serious consequences of travelling with drugs on the rail network.”
