Drug Dealers Busted in Cardiff Crack and Heroin Sting
Yusef Mohamed, 22, from Grangetown, was nabbed by Cardiff Bay officers in Butetown on April 30 with crack cocaine and heroin. The bust sparked a wider probe, leading to the arrest of Hamdi Sahal Roble, 34, from Butetown, by the Organised Crime Team.
Serious Charges for Both
Mohamed faces charges of possession with intent to supply both heroin and crack cocaine, as well as conspiracy to supply. Roble is charged with conspiracy to supply the same Class-A drugs.
Protecting a Vulnerable Victim
During the investigation, police discovered a vulnerable 36-year-old man who had been a victim of “cuckooing” — where dealers exploit a person’s home to run their drug trade. Thanks to swift action and social services’ support, the man has now been safeguarded.
Heavy Jail Terms Handed Down
Both Mohamed, of Ferry Road, and Roble, of Angelina Street, pleaded guilty on November 5. On February 1, Cardiff Crown Court sentenced Mohamed to 4 years and 6 months behind bars. Roble received 5 years and 4 months.
