Big Drug Bust in Biggin Hill: Two Men Caught with Blocks of Cocaine
Ben Zeto, 30, from Biggin Hill, and Adam Lyons, 35, from Birmingham, have been found guilty of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs following a slick Met Police operation.
Police Spot Suspicious Deal in Bromley
In July 2022, officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command were patrolling Bromley when they spotted what appeared to be a drug deal on Sunningvale Avenue, Biggin Hill. Two cars were parked together, and Zeto was seen chatting with Lyons, the driver of a blue Audi, while holding a large black bag.
Zeto jumped back into a grey Audi and drove off. Police followed and stopped the vehicle shortly after. Inside the car, in the footwell, they found ten large blocks of cocaine marked with an apple logo. Zeto was immediately arrested for possession with intent to supply.
Lyons Nabbed at Cobham Services
Officers tracked Lyons’ blue Audi to Cobham Services in Surrey. Lyons was also arrested on the same serious drug charges.
Court heard Lyons had driven all the way from Birmingham to Biggin Hill to deliver the drugs.
Encrypted Messages Reveal Debt Motive
Investigators uncovered messages on Lyons’ phone using the encrypted app Wickr. These messages showed Lyons received instructions about multiple drug drop-offs from an unknown contact. The communications suggest Lyons was involved to clear a debt.
On 3 February, a Croydon Crown Court jury found both men guilty. Sentencing is yet to be scheduled.
“We were shocked to discover such a large amount of drugs that day, but it just shows how important proactive policing is,” said Detective Sergeant Andy Snazell. “We have stopped a huge quantity of cocaine from hitting London streets. These drugs would have wreaked havoc on the local community.”
“There is no doubt the pair met to transfer the drugs and now they will pay the price for their serious crime.”
