Terrifying Attack on Woman Trying to Park Ends in Jail

Keiran Moss and Darren Dunstan launched a brutal, terrifying attack on a lone woman trying to park her car. The pair forced open the driver’s door before Moss put the victim in a headlock and dragged her out, snatching her phone in the process.

Violent Ordeal in Castle Marina

Moss handed the stolen phone to Dunstan and forced the woman to open the car boot and get inside. When she struggled to break free, Moss grabbed her neck and warned, “Don’t be stupid or I’m going to beat you up.” He then punched her twice in the face.

The woman eventually escaped, screaming for help, but suffered injuries to her face, neck, and shoulder during the late-night assault on 4 September 2021 in Castle Bridge Road, Castle Marina.

Attackers Flee in Stolen Car, Arrested in Leicester

After a brief chase, the attackers jumped into the woman’s car and sped away with Moss driving. Their vehicle triggered automatic number plate recognition cameras as they fled towards Leicester. Police arrested both men just an hour later.

While in custody, Dunstan assaulted a police officer and subjected another to racial abuse.

Jail Sentences for Brutal Robbery and Assault

Moss, 36, from Clifton, was sentenced to five years and three months for robbery and driving while disqualified. Dunstan, 37, from nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham city centre, was jailed for five years after pleading guilty to robbery, assault on an emergency worker, and racially aggravated harassment.

“This whole experience has been life-changing and has caused me to suffer flashbacks and anxiety. It has left me worried about the safety of my family,” the victim said in a court impact statement.

His Honour Judge Rupert Mayo described the attack as “terrifying” with “life-changing consequences” for the woman.

Detective Constable Gillian Cutts from Nottinghamshire Police said: “Moss and Dunstan’s actions that night were absolutely deplorable. Thankfully, they’ve been locked up and taken off the streets for a significant time.”

She added: “Robbery is a serious crime, causing lasting physical and emotional harm. This type of criminality deserves severe punishment. These sentences should serve as a warning to anyone thinking of acting in this manner.”
