Planned Police Raid Nets Suspects

Detectives have charged two men after cracking down on a spate of vehicle thefts across Kent. Martin Ward, 46, from Gillingham, and Owen Maughan, 42, from Sittingbourne, were arrested during a targeted raid on July 7.

Cash and Stolen Vehicles Seized

Officers swooped on properties in Spade Lane, Sittingbourne, uncovering two vehicles believed to be stolen along with a haul of cash. The pair now face serious charges.

Charged and Remanded

  • Both men charged with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles
  • Also charged with possession of criminal property
  • Remanded in custody ahead of court appearance

Ward and Maughan are set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on July 8.
