Car Theft Spree Hits Nottingham Early Sunday

Police were scrambled just after 8am on Sunday when a car was stolen from a supermarket car park on Castle Bridge Road, Nottingham. Things escalated quickly.

High-Speed Crash and Second Vehicle Snatched

The stolen motor smashed into another vehicle on Beckley Road, Aspley, by about 8.30am. The crook then nicked a second car parked outside a house nearby.

Suspect Caught After Ditching Second Car

The second vehicle was abandoned minutes later in Meredith Close, The Meadows. A 42-year-old man was arrested at a different address in The Meadows on suspicion of theft and burglary.

The burglary charge is linked to an earlier break-in in the same area earlier that morning. Thankfully, no one was injured.

Police Praise Officers for Quick Action

Sergeant John Meanwell of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This was an extremely challenging incident to deal with and the officers involved did a great job in tracking this suspect and bringing him into custody.”

Investigations are ongoing as cops piece together the full story behind the early morning crime spree.
