Women Jailed After Holding Down Pensioner and Ripping Off His Belongings

Two women have been locked up for 15 months after they forced their way into a 61-year-old man’s home and robbed him at knifepoint. Amy Beddow, 30, and Faye Wright, 34, were found guilty of the brazen attack on Lowthian Road, Hartlepool.

Shocking Home Invasion on April 8

On April 8, 2023, Beddow and Wright barged into the victim’s house. While Beddow pinned the man down by his wrist, Wright used scissors to cut open his pockets. The terrified victim struggled to push them away as they stole money, keys, a bank card, and his phone.

Thieves Caught Trying to Spend Stolen Cash

The pair didn’t waste time. They dashed straight to a Sainsbury’s and tried to use the stolen bank card. Police officers arrived swiftly and arrested them on the spot. Both were charged and later sentenced to 15 months behind bars.

Judge Paul Watson QC said: “This incident must have been very frightening for the victim.”
