James Stott’s Double Assault Leaves Victim Seriously Injured

Stott admitted unlawful wounding and assault at Canterbury Crown Court on 20 July. He was sentenced to two years and two months in prison on 7 September.

- In response, Stott punched the Good Samaritan in the face.
- On 1 June, Stott spotted the same man again on Folkestone Road.
- After a dispute, Stott punched the victim, knocked him down, and kicked him in the face.
- The victim suffered multiple fractures to his eye socket and cheekbone.
- Surgery was needed to insert a titanium plate into the victim’s face.
Kent Police Crack Down on Public Violence
Stott was arrested by Kent Police on the same day as the June assault and charged on 15 June following a public appeal for witnesses.
PC Ryan Alexander, the lead investigator, said: “Both of these incidents were very public displays of violence and would have been shocking to anyone who witnessed them.”
“I am pleased our investigation has led to the jailing of this violent offender and I hope the conclusion of the case gives the victim a sense that justice has been done.”
