Brutal Stabbing Murder in High Wycombe
Tyrell James viciously stabbed Karl Stanislaus 38 times, leaving a total of 56 knife wounds all over his head, neck, torso, arms, and leg. He dumped the victim beneath a disused railway bridge on the outskirts of High Wycombe on 5 September 2023, leaving him to die.
Convicted at Reading Crown Court
At Reading Crown Court, 24-year-old Tyrell James, formerly of Hawksmoor Close, High Wycombe, was found guilty of this savage, frenzied murder. The attack was so ferocious that even a passerby who found Karl tried administering CPR to save his life. Sadly, Karl’s wounds were unsurvivable, and he died at the scene.
Previous Violent Offences and Upcoming Sentence
James has also pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon relating to a separate stabbing incident involving a man in his 30s back in December 2022. He is due to be sentenced at Reading Crown Court on 30 April.
Detective’s Statement: A Callous Killer
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin of the Major Crime Unit said: “The frenzied and ferocious nature of this attack on Mr Stanislaus is without a doubt one of the worst attacks I have ever seen. There is no doubt James intended to kill him that night.”
“The injuries sustained by Mr Stanislaus were unsurvivable. It was a shocking attack. I am grateful to the jury for finding this dangerous man guilty.”
“I would also like to pay tribute to the family of Mr Stanislaus. They have endured months of anguish during this investigation and shown incredible patience and dignity throughout this process.”
