North Shields Police Seize Drug-Linked BMW in Lockdown Crackdown

Drug-Linked Car Seized in North Shields Lockdown Crackdown

A car believed to be tied to drug dealing has been ripped off the roads by police in North Shields.

Quiet Roads, But Crime Rolls On

With most people obeying lockdown rules, the streets have been unusually quiet. But criminals haven’t stopped driving; suspicious vehicles linked to organised crime are still on the move—and police are watching.

Suspicious BMW Snagged on Tynemouth Road

Officers on patrol spotted a BMW 118i acting dodgy on Tynemouth Road last Friday morning. A quick check with control revealed the car’s suspected ties to local drug dealing.

The driver, 39, was caught without insurance and proper documents. The car was seized, and the man reported for multiple driving offences. He’ll face court soon—and had to hoof it home after losing his ride.

Police Say No Let-Up in Crackdown

Chief Inspector Sam Rennison said: “This was a great piece of work by officers and it has resulted in this vehicle being taken off the road. It has been linked to suspected drug dealing in the area and although we found nothing in the vehicle, it was being driven without the appropriate documentation.

The driver will appear in court in due course and was left with a long walk home after the car was uplifted. We will continue to target anyone we suspect to be using our road networks for suspected criminal activity.”
