Worcester Police Hunt Vandals Who Attacked Beloved Penguin Sculpture

Worcester cops are on the lookout after thugs vandalised a famous Worcester Waddle penguin. The attack happened just after midnight on Tuesday, August 20, outside the city’s sewage works on Bromwich Parade.

CCTV Captures Brazen Damage to Public Art

Shocking CCTV footage shows two suspects pushing the penguin off its plinth before stamping on it in full view of the camera. The culprits fled the scene towards Bromwich Parade.

Sergeant Sam Mott, leading the inquiry, said: “The footage isn’t clear enough to ID the suspects, but we’re asking the public for any clues. If you recognise the clothing or behaviour of these individuals, please speak up.”

One suspect was even seen filming the destruction. Sgt Mott warned the footage may already be circulating on social media. “If you’ve seen this video anywhere online, we need you to come forward,” he urged.

The Worcester Waddle, a series of penguin sculptures dotted around the city, is much loved by locals. The vandalism has left many residents upset and angry.
