Tragic Crash Claims Toddler’s Life in Whitstable
A heartbreaking crash in Whitstable has claimed the life of two-year-old Sonny Macdonald. The tot was in his pram when a car lost control, smashing into his family before crashing through a barrier and landing in a car park.
Horrific Incident Minutes From Home
The tragedy unfolded on Saturday, 16 August, just minutes from the family’s home on Cromwell Road. Sonny’s parents were pushing him back from a trip to Whitstable beach when disaster struck.
The vehicle was turning from Harbour Street into Cromwell Road when it suddenly lost control, hitting the family. Sonny’s father suffered serious injuries in the smash.
The car then ploughed through a metal barrier, plunging about six feet into the Gorrell Tank car park — with Sonny trapped inside.
